The performance requirements of wire and cable products are mainly put forward from the aspects of the use of each specific product, use conditions and matching relationship of supporting equipment.
Electrical properties. That is, the electrical conductivity of the cable, the cable products are required to have good electrical conductivity, individual products require a certain resistance range. For motor products, the cable is the key component connecting the motor winding with the driving equipment, which requires good conductivity and electrical insulation performance, mainly including insulation resistance, dielectric coefficient, dielectric loss, resistance and so on.
Mechanical properties. The properties mainly include tensile strength, elongation, bending, elasticity, softness, shock resistance, abrasion resistance and mechanical impact resistance. Thermal performance. It refers to the product temperature grade, operating temperature, heat dissipation characteristics, current carrying capacity, short circuit and overload capacity, thermal deformation and thermal shock capacity of synthetic materials, thermal expansion property and dripping property of impregnated or coated materials.
Corrosion and weather resistance. The cable is resistant to electrochemical corrosion, biological and bacterial corrosion, chemical drugs (oil, acid, alkali, chemical solvents, etc.) corrosion, salt spray resistance, light resistance, cold resistance, mold resistance, moisture resistance, etc.
Aging properties. It refers to the ability of products and their constituent materials to maintain their original properties under the action of various external factors such as mechanical stress, electrical stress and thermal stress, or under the action of external climate conditions. For general motors, the reason of aging is more due to thermal stress and electrical stress. But for special environmental purposes, such as corrosive gases can also cause premature aging of lead insulation.
Other attributes. It includes the properties of some materials (such as hardness of metal materials, creep, compatibility of polymer materials) and some special properties of the product (such as non-combustibility, resistance to atomic radiation, resistance to insect bite, delayed transmission, energy damping, etc.).
