Overview of silicone rubber in wire and cable
The silicone rubber in wires and cables is a kind of rubber that has two organic groups attached to the silicon atoms. Ordinary silicone rubber is mainly composed of methyl groups and a small amount of vinyl siloxane chains. The introduction of phenyl can improve the high temperature and low temperature resistance of silicone rubber, and the introduction of trifluoropropyl and cyanide can improve the high temperature and oil resistance of silicone rubber. Silicone rubber resistance to low temperature is good, generally can still work at 55℃. After adding phenyl, it can reach 73℃. Silicone rubber heat resistance is very excellent, also can work in 180℃ for a long time, a little more than 200℃ still need a few weeks or longer time elasticity, instantaneous resistance to more than 300℃ high temperature. The silicone rubber of wire and cable has good air permeability and has the highest oxygen transmission rate in the synthetic polymer. In addition, silicone rubber also has excellent physiological inert characteristics, will not cause coagulation, so in the medical field has been widely used.
Silicone rubber hot vulcanization type (high temperature vulcanized silicone rubber HTV), room temperature vulcanization type (RTV), including room temperature vulcanization and condensation polymerization type and addition reaction type of wire and cable. High temperature silicone rubber is mainly used for manufacturing various silicone rubber products, and room temperature silicone rubber is mainly used as adhesive, filling material or mold. Thermal vulcanization type is the most, thermal vulcanization is divided into methyl silicone rubber (MQ), methyl vinyl silicone rubber (VMQ), methyl vinyl phenyl silicone rubber (PVMQ)(low temperature resistance, radiation resistance), other silicone rubber, fluorine silicone rubber, etc..
