Definition and classification of wire and cable

Generalized electric wire and cable is also referred to as cable. Narrow sense cable is to point to insulative cable. It may be defined as an assembly of the following parts, one or more insulated cores, and each of them may have a cladding, a total protection and an outer sheath. The cable may also have an additional conductor without insulation.

China's wire and cable products are classified into the following five categories according to their USES:

1. Bare wires;

2. Winding wire;

Power cable; 4.

4. Communication cable and communication cable;

5. Electric wires and cables for electrical equipment.

Basic structure of wire and cable:

1. Conductor: objects that conduct electric current, wires and cables are specified as sections of conductors.

2. Insulation: the outer insulation material shall be in accordance with its withstand voltage.
